Frequently asked questions
How does table detection work?
PDFly scans the text on every page and looks for runs of consecutive rows whose text lines up into the same number of aligned columns. When a group of rows shares that structure, it's treated as a table; ordinary paragraphs and headings are left out.
Can I choose which detected tables to export?
Yes. Every detected table is shown with a preview and a checkbox, so you can uncheck any table you don't want before exporting — only the checked tables are written to the Excel file.
What if a real table on my page isn't detected?
Very irregular layouts (merged cells, rotated text, scanned images of tables) can be missed by automatic detection. If that happens, try the regular PDF to Excel converter instead, which treats the whole page as one grid.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened, scanned, and converted entirely inside your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.
Is it free, with no limits?
Yes. No account, no watermark, and no limit on how many files you can process.
